Microsoft is running an ad in The Washington Post to say that it’s cool with unions

Microsoft has long been known as an innovator and a leader in the technology industry. Now, the company is taking this commitment to its workers to the next level by running an ad in The Washington Post proclaiming its support for unions.

In the ad, the company states that it “believes in the right of workers to choose to join a union,” in light of the continued growth of organizing efforts among tech workers. Microsoft goes on to pledge to “provide a fair process and to respect the outcome of any election.”

This bold move comes at a time when tech companies are facing increasing pressure to have their workers unionize. Tech workers have become increasingly vocal in their demands for better pay, better working conditions, and more say in the decision-making process.

Microsoft’s pro-union stance stands in contrast to those of many other major tech companies, which have opposed unionization efforts and actively sought to prevent their workers from joining unions. Microsoft’s open approach is likely to be seen as a welcome respite from the hostile posture that some of its larger rivals have taken.
