The Harvey Awards are an annual American comic book industry award presented by the Harvey Comics Foundation since 1988. They are the most prestigious award for creators in the comic book industry, and nominations come from professionals within the comic book business as well as fans.
This year’s list of nominees is nothing short of amazing, with some of the biggest names in the comic book world being represented. The list of nominated works range from independent comic books, to blockbuster events, and everything in-between. Some of the nominated works include the Marvel Comics mega-event “Secret Wars,” the Image Comics megahit “Saga,” and the cult favorite “Rapunzel’s Revenge” from Erin Stead.

Other notable titles with multiple nominations include “Saga” and the newly released “Rat Queens” from Image Comics, along with “The Wicked + The Divine” from Image Comics and “Spider-Gwen” from Marvel Comics.
The Harvey Awards are also known for awarding the Lifetime Achievement Award, which is one of the most prestigious awards in the comics industry. This year, the award goes to the prolific artist and writer, Walter Simonson. Simonson is best known for his work on such books as “The Mighty Thor”, “Manhunter”, and “Star Spangled War Stories”. Nominees for other special categories include creators such as Scott Snyder, Jill Soloway, and Chris Claremont.
