iPhone 14, 14 Pro owners complain about battery capacity that’s already falling off

The iPhone 14 and 14 Pro, released late last year, have been met with excitement and awe from Apple fans all over the world. However, recent reports suggest that these models are already facing one issue: a battery capacity that is slipping.

Reports of iPhone 14 and 14 Pro owners have begun to surface regarding their phones’ battery capacity dropping too quickly and too suddenly. While the battery life of any smartphone tends to lessen over time, some users claim that their iPhones’ battery life has decreased faster than what is typically expected.

In order to verify these reports, tech analysts have tested several iPhone 14 models to get a better understanding of the situation. It appears that many iPhone 14 and 14 Pro users have been seeing their battery capacity decline by more than 10% in a single day of light usage.

This kind of battery drop is highly unusual—the average iPhone will typically show a 3-4% decline in a single day of use.

Technicians theorize that it may be due to the iPhones’ lack of RAM capacity, which affects how quickly the battery is drained. While the additions of features like automated dark mode and background refresh may seem like slight changes, they are apparently eating up more of the phone’s battery than expected.

Additionally, the recent iOS 14.2 update seemed to worsen the issue for some users. Apple’s recent updates are notorious for using more energy than prior versions, and this appears to be the case with iOS 14.

This doesn’t appear to be affecting all iPhone 14 and 14 Pro models—some users are still reporting good battery life. Apple is aware of the issue, and it seems that they’ll be rolling out fixes in future updates or patches.

In the meantime, users of the iPhone 14 and 14 Pro are advised to conserve their battery power as much as possible, by disabling background app refresh, decreasing the brightness of the display, and disabling unused features.

It goes without saying that the battery issues plaguing iPhone 14 and 14 Pro owners are highly concerning, and Apple must address them if they wish to maintain their customers’ trust.
