It’s been more than twenty years since gamers first encountered the classic gaming sensation of Final Fantasy 7, and the release of the much-anticipated remake of the iconic JRPG is right around the corner. Fans have been eagerly awaiting the remake of this seminal role-playing game since its announcement at E3 2015. Since then, we have seen a steady stream of information about the upcoming game, including the official release date, trailers, gameplay, and other news and announcements.
Final Fantasy 7 Remake will launch on April 10, 2020 exclusively for the PlayStation 4, with a physical version and a Deluxe Edition available on that day. It will be a timed exclusive so a PC and Xbox One version is likely to follow in the future. Additionally, points earned in the game can be used to unlock exclusive items in both Kingdom Hearts 3 and Final Fantasy 14, so adding this game to your library is a must if you’re a fan of either series.
Additionally, we have seen several trailers from the game that give us a good look at what to expect. The first installment will cover the events from the original game, up until the party’s escape from Midgar. After that, future installments will follow the remainder of the plot.
