Scott Pilgrim is one of the most beloved comic book characters of the modern era, and now he’s set to make his debut on the small screen. Netflix recently released the first look at its upcoming anime series, Scott Pilgrim vs the World, which promises to be an exciting and action-packed ride.
The series is based on the original comic book series of the same name by Bryan Lee O’Malley, and follows the titular character on a mission to defeat the seven evil exes of his current girlfriend, Ramona Flowers. The series is set to incorporate both elements from the original comic book series as well as from the 2010 live-action movie of the same name, which starred Michael Cera in the lead role.
The new Netflix original series is being co-developed by Anime studio Powehouse Animation Studios, and it looks like it will bring the characters of the comic book (as well as the movie) to the small screen in a whole new way. The show promises to be filled with colorful characters, over-the-top excitement, and plenty of laughs. Viewers are sure to be delighted by the visuals, dialogue, and character animations featured in the show.
The series stars acclaimed voice actor Jason Schwartzman as the voice of Scott Pilgrim, alongside Mary Elizabeth Winstead (who portrayed Ramona Flowers in the live-action movie) voicing the show’s lead character. Additionally, other cast members include Mae Whitman as the voice of Knives Chau, Scoot McNairy as Wallace Wells, and Brandon Routh as Todd Ingram.
With its colorful visuals, action-packed storyline, and a star-studded cast, Netflix’s new anime series looks set to be a hit. We can’t wait to see what Scott Pilgrim has in store for us!
