Peter Dinklage, one of the most prolific actors of this generation, is making a sensational return to the big screen. Fantastic Fest has shared a first look at Peter’s starring role in the remake of the 1984 cult classic, The Toxic Avenger.
The original Toxic Avenger was a wildly popular Troma movie helmed by Lloyd Kaufman and Michael Herz. It became a cult classic featuring the titular muscular mop-wielding superhero fighting pollution and other evils. The Toxic Avenger remake that stars Peter Dinklage revolves around Toxie, a hero seeking revenge after a corrupt company destroys his small town.
The all-new trailer that surfaced reveals the four mutants who have sworn to help Toxie in his crusade against corruption. With their unique abilities the foursome battles injustice and even each other. Shot in a style of heightened realism, the trailer hints at comedic and thrilling action that fans will be sure to love.
Not only will Peter Dinklage be the star attraction in the movie but Fantastic Fest also revealed a few other actors cast in the remake. These will include Marielle Scott, Taylor Schilling and Paul Rudd.
If the trailer is any indication, The Toxic Avenger remake may be a hit. With the concept of a modern-day superhero combined with comedic elements, this could be a movie that brings something unique and refreshing to the big screen.
