Don Cheadle Had 2 Hours to Agree to Be in the Marvel Cinematic Universe

The Marvel Cinematic Universe is one of the most beloved film series of all time, and one of the characters that has become synonymous with the series is Don Cheadle as James “Rhodey” Rhodes. Don Cheadle is a seasoned actor with a long and impressive career, so it is little surprise that he had just two hours to decide if he wanted to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

In 2008, a script for a new Iron Man movie was sent to Don Cheadle by Marvel Studios. The script asked for the actor to come to Los Angeles within two hours to discuss the role of James “Rhodey” Rhodes, that of Tony Stark’s best friend and an important piece in the storyline of the movie. The script made an impression on Don, as well as being a great opportunity to be part of an incredible movie series.

However, Don Cheadle wasn’t entirely sure if he should accept the role.
