Just recently, tech giant Microsoft unveiled its new AI technology that has the ability to simulate a person’s voice using only 3 seconds of audio. This new technology, named ‘Voice Clone’, could potentially revolutionize the way Artificial Intelligence (AI) is used in the near future.
Microsoft created this technology with the intent of helping people more easily and accurately recreate the voices of both living and deceased loved ones. However, one of the more significant uses of the technology would be in improving speech recognition accuracy and creating more realistic-sounding voice simulations for media, gaming and other types of applications. However, along with this technology comes the potential ethical and privacy issues. Microsoft have said that they are taking the necessary steps to ensure that their new AI technology is used responsibly and securely. They have set up a dedicated team to monitor the system and any misuse of the technology would be dealt with appropriately.
