Hitman, the 2016 title from IO Interactive, is a classic game that has stood the test of time. Unfortunately, like all games, Hitman is not without its flaws. One of the most significant, and persistent, issues encountered by players is the infamous “Death Wall”, a game breaking bug that prevents players from continuing after a certain point in the game.
The “Death Wall” is encountered in the Mission 9: World of Tomorrow, which is a timed mission where the player must try to assassinate their targets and escape within a certain time limit. However, if the time limit is exceeded, a glitch occurs which prevents the player from proceeding any further in the game. The only solution offered by the developers is to restart the game and replay the mission from the beginning.
Despite the developers’ best efforts, they have been unable to fix the bug permanently. IO Interactive have released several patches in the years since the game’s release, but none of them have been successful in permanently fixing the “Death Wall”. The developers have been trying to find a solution to this issue, but there is no indication that they will be able to fix it anytime soon.
This is an unfortunate situation, as the “Death Wall” bug is hugely disruptive to players’ experiences and prevents them from progressing further in the game. Hitman fans have been crying out for a fix to this issue for years now, to no avail. It’s unclear why IO Interactive have been unable to successfully patch the bug, but whatever the cause, it’s clear that they are up against a formidable challenge.
The only thing players can do at this point is to remain patient and hope that IO Interactive will manage to eventually fix the “Death Wall”. Until then, it seems that Hitman players will just have to live with the bug and find ways to work around it.
