Google recently announced the launch of emojis on their video-calling platform — Google Meet. This feature allows video conference participants to express their feelings quickly with the click of an emoji.
Emojis are a simple and direct way to convey emotions, sentiments, and reactions. They were previously only available on Hangouts, Google’s instant messaging app, but are now available to users of the Google Meet platform.
With this feature, users can now quickly react to what someone in a meeting is saying or presenting. When a user sees something they like, they can react with a thumbs up, or if there is something they are unsure about, they can react with a question mark.
Google Meet users can now use emojis to increase engagement during meetings. These emojis can be used to indicate agreement or disagreement with a proposal, give feedback on a presentation, and can even be used in smaller teams.
For instance, a team of four working on a project can ask questions by placing a question mark emoji in the chat, and can also offer praise or criticism on an idea by reacting with the thumbs up or thumbs down emoji.
These reactions will appear next to your profile picture in the meeting. You can also see which reactions you have given or received. You can also see when other users have reacted to a previous message or comment.
Overall, Google Meet’s new emoji React feature provides an easy and quick way for users to communicate during meetings and collaborate quickly and efficiently. This feature will be especially helpful for larger organisations that are always communicating over video calls.
