T-Mobile, the nation’s third-largest wireless provider, recently unveiled its new fee structure for cellular service. Its priciest plan, designed for individuals, will cost $100 and will beat out AT&T and Verizon’s priciest package.
This new $100 package offers unlimited talk, text and web surfing, plus 10 gigabytes of data roaming, plus 20 gigabytes of high-speed data and access to T-Mobile’s nationwide 4G LTE network. T-Mobile CEO John Legere believes that his company is offering consumers the best value for their money. He said, “The days when AT&T and Verizon could charge higher prices for less are over. We have changed the game and now customers can get an incredible package of features for $100 or less.”
With the new plan, customers will receive a host of features and benefits that exceed those offered by AT&T and Verizon at this price. This includes unlimited international texting and calling, access to T-Mobile’s JUMP!℠ upgrade program, and free music and video streaming on select services. Additionally, customers who switch from AT&T or Verizon get an extra 4 gigabytes of data plus a free feature phone, tablet or mobile hotspot.
The move by T-Mobile comes after AT&T and Verizon increased their prices. AT&T’s priciest plan costs $95 per month, and Verizon’s highest-tier wireless plan currently costs just under $100.
The new plan shows that T-Mobile is determined to push the boundaries when it comes to providing wireless services at competitive prices. With this new plan, T-Mobile is hoping to take a bite out of AT&T and Verizon’s market share. It is likely that this move will create a pricing war between these three major players in the wireless market. For customers, this could lead to lower monthly bills and potentially better customer service.
All in all, T-Mobile’s new $100 package is good news for customers who are looking for a quality wireless package at a competitive price. It also shows that the days of AT&T and Verizon dominating the market with overpriced plans may soon be over. It remains to be seen if other carriers will offer similar plans, but for now it is a good sign for customers that competition is on the rise.
