Baldur’s Gate 3’s gigantic new patch is for the shorties

Baldur’s Gate 3 has been making waves in the gaming world since it launched late last year. The game’s breakneck development cycle has seen it go through a number of major updates, and the latest, released today, is no exception. Dubbed Patch 5, the update is one of the biggest yet, touching on a plethora of game elements and addressing countless accurate issues. But if you thought the massive list of tweaks was impressive, wait until you hear what this patch has in store for shorties.

Patch 5 brings with it a small but hugely important amendment to Baldur’s Gate 3’s character creation options. For the first time, players now have the ability to adjust the height of their in-game avatar. The slider allows you to adjust your character’s height, or in some cases, even shrink them down to height levels they could only have dreamt about previously.

Players who wish to go miniature might be pleased to hear that, should you choose to do so, the game also scales its environment appropriately, making it easier to reach some of the game’s tight spots and otherwise inaccessible locations.

The new feature has been lauded by gaming publications and fans alike, who believe it is a much-needed fix for the game’s steep difficulty curve. So for those of you who have been struggling with Bulwark’s towering humanoid monsters, now you have the opportunity to shrink yourself down to size and give yourself more room to maneuver.

In addition to making the game more accessible for short gamers, the feature also affects the game’s UI, allowing those same players to easily move through menus and interact with objects they might have previously had difficulty with.

Baldur’s Gate 3 Patch 5 is sure to be a hit with fans of the game. Those of us who prefer to play as a tiny version of ourselves can now do that, while the remainder of players can take advantage of the other improvements the patch brings. So what are you waiting for? Hop in and enjoy the game anew!
