Starfield may let modders create their own planets, hints Pete Hines

Recently, Bethesda Vice President Pete Hines has dropped a hint about the upcoming much-anticipated game Starfield, suggesting that modders may get to create their own planets.

This revelation has been met by overall positive reactions from the gaming community, who are drooling at the prospect of living out their ultimate fantasy of creating and playing on their own daydream planets. This novel idea has opened the possibility of creating an entirely new universe separate from the original game’s universe.

The game, which is currently in the development stage, is described as a “space epic” set in an open world. So far, no other details have been shared by Bethesda, but the company has shared that it is working on the game with its proprietary Creation Engine.

The most exciting part about this news is that, while nothing has been officially confirmed just yet, it looks like Bethesda is open to the notion of allowing outside modders the opportunity to use the game’s assets to create planets outside the game.

This feature could potentially add hundreds and thousands of new planets into Starfield for players to explore, with seemingly limitless opportunities and possibilities. Not only that, but it could create an entirely new genre of games, allowing modders to dream up inventive planets and share their work with the world.

This type of feature is still relatively new to the gaming industry, but it’s rapidly gaining popularity. Modders have been sparked by similar features that have been recently been made available in several games, such as Grand Theft Auto V, which uses OpenIV to allow players to create mods for the game.

What sets Starfield apart, however, is the scale of modding it is offering, and the implications it could have for the entire gaming community. It’s hard to imagine the possibilities of independent modding for a space epic that pits players against unique and unknown challenges in an infinite universe that can be customized as much as the player wants to create new experiences.

Unfortunately, nothing has been officially confirmed by Bethesda just yet. But with Pete Hines hinting at the possibility of modding for Starfield, it’s only a matter of time before we are able to explore our own planets in this vast new space adventure.
