Did Ahsoka Hurt Itself by Not Doing This?

The books of Star Wars have always been a major source of interest among fans of the movies. The infamous character Ahsoka Tano had her own book series and other appearances, showing her journey from apprentice to Jedi general. Now, with a brand new Mandalorian arc, the Master Yoda lookalike has resurfaced to take on the forces of the Empire. But did she make a mistake by not taking a more proactive role earlier?

To answer that question, it’s important to look at what she did and didn’t do in the heat of battle. After fending off Darth Vader and saving Ahsoka’s master Anakin Skywalker, Ahsoka chose to spare his life and not join his fight against the Empire. Back then, the Dark Side was overpowering the Republic and a distinctive force would be great. But she decided against it instead.

Not joining the fight could have been for a number of reasons. Maybe Ahsoka felt overwhelmed by the sheer power of the Empire, or she was trying to keep a piece of her Jedi training alive. Perhaps she was content with just saving her master, or she chose to pursue a more subtle role with the potential to gain more strategic insight into the situation.

Regardless of the reason, Ahsoka’s decision still baffled many fans, and whether it was an astute or simple mistake is open to interpretation. On one hand, Ahsoka didn’t volunteer to join the fight, and the most likely result would have been certain death. She was one of the few Jedi left in the galaxy at that time and her power and skill was greatly needed. On the other, she saved Anakin’s life and without her; the Republic might have been taken over.

Ahsoka’s decision may have been bold, considering that her path was already predetermined. But hindsight being what it is, her actions should be viewed in the context of the time. At the end of the day, Ahsoka did manage to protect her master and the Republic, and she should be praised for that, despite her wariness of joining the fight directly. The decisions we make in life have consequences, and it’s up to the individual to learn from their choices.
