The wait is over as Microsoft has finally released Windows 11, the new version of its iconic operating system. As with any big update, the tech giant has included plenty of exciting new features and enhancements, and the Start menu is no exception. One particular highlight that may have gone past most users is a mysterious new feature buried deep within the settings menu.
The feature has been dubbed the “Search Bar” and can be found under the Start menu’s “All Apps” setting. With it, users can enter any keyword related to the applications they’re looking for and the associated programs will appear below. This can be a great help when trying to remember which specific app you need to launch.
Of course, the new Search Bar is only useful for apps that have been installed on your computer. Microsoft has stated that it’s working on a way to let you search for applications that have not yet been installed, but for now you have to install them manually.
In addition to providing a convenient way to find and launch apps quickly, the Search Bar adds another layer of organization and convenience to the Windows 11 operating system. It’s certainly a useful addition to the Windows ecosystem and one that should prove invaluable for those that take advantage of the many applications available for Windows.
Microsoft has done a great job of keeping the new feature under wraps, as it was only recently discovered by eagle-eyed Windows users. It’s only available in the latest version of Windows 11, so make sure you’re running the latest OS if you want to get the most out of the Start menu.
While the Search Bar is no game-changer, it’s nice to see Microsoft adding small but welcome improvements with its new Windows 11 operating system. The new feature is certainly worth checking out and may even become a mainstay on Windows systems in the future.
