Disney’s Phineas & Ferb is Getting a Revival

Walt Disney lovers rejoice: The beloved animated comedy Phineas & Ferb is getting a revival. Fans have been clamoring for a return of the adventurous siblings, and it seems Disney is finally listening.

The original TV series, created by Dan Povenmire and Jeff “Swampy” Marsh, aired from 2007 to 2015 and revolved around the two step-brothers, Phineas and Ferb. With their pet platypus Perry, they spent their summer vacation creating cheery, anarchic schemes and inventions. Along the way, they encountered a bevy of easily annoyed adults, though the siblings often come out on top with their creative solutions.

The series also revolved around their older sister Candace, who was always trying to expose them to their parents for their oft-escalating antics but rarely succeeds. The show grew its devoted fan base, who will now have something to look forward to in its revival.

The exact details of the revival have yet to be confirmed. It is unknown whether the original cast will be returning or not. However, Marsh and Povenmire have been promised to serve as executive producers under the banner of Wild Brain, who are also working on the revival.

The revival is set to be a musical, a beloved element of the series that captured many of the characters’ individual personalities. There is a collection of memorable earworms, ranging from the theme song to hits such as “I’m Me” and “Gitchee, Gitchee Goo”. Fans can only hope to see what new musical numbers the creative duo can come up with.

The exact release date for the series has yet to be announced, but it is highly anticipated due to its immense popularity with both young and old viewers. It’s safe to say that it will be well worth the wait.
