It’s been a long wait for fans of the superhero series Invincible, with the beloved show finally making its long-awaited return. However, despite the fact that it’s been a year since the last season, many fans are still frustrated with the delay in getting Invincible back on the air.
For those who might not know, Invincible follows Mark Grayson (voiced by Steven Yeun), a teenager with superpower abilities. He is the son of superhero Omni-Man (J.K. Simmons) and soon learns that he too has his own special powers. When his father leaves Earth to return to his home world, Mark must step up and take on the mantle of responsibility that comes with being a superhero.
Unfortunately, the long wait for new episodes of Invincible comes at a price: fans have had to endure a number of delays and production issues. This has meant that we now find ourselves more than a year behind in getting to see new episodes of the series.
The delays have been met with mixed reactions from fans. While some are understanding of the production issues, many are understandably frustrated that their anticipation for the show has been continually put aside in favor of other projects. This is especially prominent when compared to other superhero shows such as The Flash, which continue to deliver new content at regular intervals.
It’s probably fair to say that Invincible will have to face some tough criticism when it eventually returns. Fans have been eagerly awaiting the show’s comeback for a long time, and explanations of production issues will only go so far to appease them.
It remains to be seen just what shape Invincible’s return will take, but this time fans will most likely have a few hard questions to ask the series creators. We’re all waiting with anticipation for the show’s return, but it’s looking likely that when that happens, Invincible will have some explaining to do.
