The highly anticipated “Judas” trailer by acclaimed video game designer Ken Levine just dropped, and it certainly looks like it’s going to be the best of the BioShock series.
This is the third title in the popular BioShock series, which has seen its fair share of success critically and commercially. It’s already being lauded as one of the most impressive and ambitious video games ever made. And after just one trailer, it looks to have surpassed the previous two titles in every way.
The trailer looks absolutely dazzling and features a great mix of intense and gripping combat scenes, stunning visuals, compelling storytelling and evocative score. It also showed off some truly impressive gameplay footage, with the player using a mixture of advanced weapons and special abilities to take down powerful enemies.
The setting for this game will be the dystopian city of Rapture, which was the main location for the original BioShock. This time around, however, players will be able to explore an entirely different world, with new areas to explore, new enemies to face, and new alliances to make.
The game also appears to be taking some cues from the popular RPG genre, as seen in the trailer, which shows the character interacting with a number of characters and actively making choices that affect the outcome of the game.
Judas looks like it could potentially be the definitive BioShock experience, delivering the intense and engaging gunplay that the genre is known for, while at the same time exploring complex themes and creating an immersive world to explore.
The game also appears to be focused heavily on character development, with the trailer showing off interactions between the player character and other characters in the game. This could open up a lot of new narrative and replayability avenues.
If Judas can reach the potential it’s showing in the trailer, it could very easily be the best of the BioShock series and the best game in the genre yet. We’ll just have to wait and see when the game drops later this year.
