Elon Musk teases ‘higher priced’ Twitter Blue subscription with no ads

Elon Musk, the billionaire entrepreneur and CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, took to Twitter on Monday to tease an upcoming update to the popular social media platform. In his latest Tweet, Musk hinted at the launch of a “higher priced” subscription-based version of Twitter, dubbed “Twitter Blue”.

Reports suggest that Twitter Blue will provide added features and benefits like personalized themes, advanced editing tools and color customization to users who opt in to play a certain fee. Moreover, those subscribing to Twitter Blue will be free from “annoying ads” which are a major feature in the current version of Twitter.

The official launch of Twitter Blue is yet to be announced, but its features and various subscription packages indicate that it won’t come cheap. Some believe that such a service will give users greater control of their accounts, such as the ability to tailor their notifications, as well as helping the company monetize its platform.

The news of a subscription-based version of Twitter wasn’t the only tease that Musk dropped on the social media platform. He also promised an update on the much-awaited Tesla Model 3 in June, prompting speculation around what updates, features and design upgrades the new car will come with. Musk’s tweets have already started trending across the internet.

It’s safe to say that Musk’s presence on Twitter has had a huge impact on not just the platform but also the business world and society at large. His presence on the site keeps us on the cusp of the latest news and most importantly, maintains our interest in the ever-changing future he has been creating.

We look forward to what Musk and the other business magicians at Twitter have in store for us with their subscription service. Prices and services provided might be the decisive factors in making Twitter Blue a success. We’ll just have to wait and find out.
