As 2021 begins to come to an end, it’s time to start looking ahead to the upcoming year of cinema. And with the arrival of 2023, we have a lot of exciting films to look forward to in the genres of horror, science fiction, and fantasy.
The year is set to bring us a variety of highly anticipated horror films from some of the genre’s biggest names. We’ll be seeing two new entries from legendary horror director Jordan Peele, as his follow-up to 2017’s Get Out is expected to arrive in theaters sometime in 2023. He is also set to bring us a new version of the classic vampire film Salem’s Lot that looks to put a dark and twisted spin on the Stephen King novel. Additionally, The Conjuring 3 is slated to arrive, centering on the story of the cult-like group the Devil’s Riders.
The year will also be packed with science-fiction and fantasy films. From blockbuster franchises like Star Wars, Jurassic World, Avatar, and Transformers to smaller releases like Free Guy, Morbius, and The Space Between Us, 2023 looks to be a thrilling year for fans of these genres. In addition to these major releases, there will be plenty of original stories for audiences to explore, such as The Midnight Sky, starring George Clooney and Felicity Jones, and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, which promises to be the most ambitious Marvel movie yet.
There’s no denying that we have a lot of big movies to look forward to in 2023. It’s sure to be a year packed with horror, sci-fi, and fantasy films that will make for an exciting cinema slate. We can’t wait to see what surprises this year’s grand releases bring!
