As gamers anxiously await for the long-awaited releases of new games and consoles in 2021, there is already much speculation about what we can expect to see in 2023. While it’s too early to predict the exact release dates for upcoming games and consoles in 2023, we do have some initial rumors and expectations that point to what we can expect to see and play in just a few years.
Console gamers can look forward to Sony and Microsoft both to releasing their next-gen PlayStation and Xbox consoles in late 2023. These are slated to be significantly more powerful than their predecessors and will open up a whole new level of gaming and content. Rumors also suggest that they’ll come equipped with features such as ray tracing, native 4K visuals, and support for high-resolution displays.
Meanwhile, PC gamers can look forward to the release of several new games in 2023. RPGs, MMOs, and first-person shooters are just some of the genres that have already been announced. Examples include Wolfenstein: Legion, a new installment of Bethesda Game Studios’ Wolfenstein series, and Kojima Productions’ Death Stranding, a “third-person action game” about dodging a terrifying and hostile world.
Open world games are also set to make a big splash in 2023. Chief among these is Rockstar Games’ Red Dead Redemption 3, a sequel to the critically acclaimed Red Dead Redemption 2. We can also look forward to the highly anticipated Remedy Entertainment game, Control, and Ubisoft’s Watch Dogs Legion, set in a post-Brexit London.
Moreover, 2023 is shaping up to be a great year for sports lovers, with EA Sports’s Medea Frostbite set to bring some amazing forward-thinking features to sports gaming. Bethesda’s The Elder Scrolls VI and Activision’s Call of Duty: New World Order are also rumored to be in the works and are expected to be released sometime in 2023.
So, all in all, it’s looking like 2023 is shaping up to be a great year for gamers on both PC and console. With so many exciting new additions for both PC and console in the works, it’s looking like 2023 is going to be a great year for gamers all around the world.
