Apple AirPods 4 and AirPods 4 With Active Noise Cancellation Review: Not Worth It
The Apple AirPods have become synonymous with true wireless earbuds since their release in 2016. With each new iteration, Apple has promised innovative features and improvements. However, when it comes to the latest models, AirPods 4 and AirPods 4 with Active Noise Cancellation, it seems that Apple has missed the mark.
One of the main selling points of the AirPods 4 is their active noise cancellation (ANC) feature. ANC is supposed to block out external sounds, allowing you to immerse yourself in your music or enjoy a peaceful environment. Unfortunately, the ANC on the AirPods 4 is mediocre at best. It struggles with blocking out consistent low-frequency noises, such as the hum of an air conditioner or the rumble of a train. This can be particularly disappointing for those who use noise-canceling earbuds to drown out noise in busy environments or during travel.
Additionally, the sound quality of the AirPods 4 leaves much to be desired. While they offer a well-balanced audio experience with good clarity and decent bass, they lack the richness and depth that other earbuds in the same price range provide. Audiophiles and music enthusiasts may find themselves disappointed by the mediocre sound reproduction.
Another drawback of the AirPods 4 is their fit. Just like their predecessors, they have a one-size-fits-all design. While some people find them comfortable and secure, others struggle with a loose fit or discomfort after extended use. This lack of customization options can be frustrating, especially considering the cost of these earbuds.
Battery life is another area where the AirPods 4 fall short. Although Apple claims up to 5 hours of listening time on a single charge and up to 24 hours with the charging case, real-life performance often falls significantly short of these numbers. Many users have reported that the battery life is inconsistent and doesn’t live up to Apple’s promises, which can be a major inconvenience, especially for those who rely on their earbuds throughout the day.
the price of the AirPods 4 is undoubtedly a major deterrent. Starting at $199 for the standard version and $249 for the ANC version, they are significantly more expensive than many other true wireless earbuds on the market that offer equal or even better features. Considering the performance issues mentioned earlier, the high price tag makes the AirPods 4 much less attractive.
while Apple’s AirPods have become a popular choice for wireless earbuds, the AirPods 4 and AirPods 4 with Active Noise Cancellation fail to live up to the hype. The mediocre ANC, lackluster sound quality, subpar fit, average battery life, and high price point are significant drawbacks that make them an unappealing choice compared to other alternatives available in the market. If you’re in the market for true wireless earbuds, it’s worth considering other options that provide better value for your money.
