The Game Awards, an annual awards ceremony, is set to return once again at 7:30 PM ET on Thursday, December 10th. This year’s ceremony is the fifth installment, and will feature over fourteen different awards and categories. Fans of video games can tune in to watch the virtual ceremony, hosted by Geoff Keighley, with the festivities and ceremonies broadcasted live to fans around the world.
The featured awards include the highly anticipated Game of the Year award, voted on by judges and fans. This year, voters will be presented with nine different titles nominated for the award that have impacted the industry in a significant way this past year. Some of the titles include Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, Resident Evil 2 Remake, and Control, among others. Other awards include Best Debut Indie Game and Best Esports Game. Additionally, fans can look forward to a number of special reveals and announcements, guaranteed to get them excited for what lies ahead for the industry.
The ceremony will feature musical performances by some of the music industry’s biggest stars, including Green Day, Chvrches, and Hans Zimmer. Appearances by video game celebrities are also confirmed. Previous guests have included Shigeru Miyamoto, Hideo Kojima, and Dr.Disrespect.
