In the ever-growing market of smart home devices, three major brands have become quite synonymous with the automation lifestyle- Amazon, Apple, and Google. While there have been many attempts to enter the market and make a splash, these three suppliers remain at the top of the heap. Knowing this, it is only natural to ask which of them leads the way in the smart speaker category.
One of the most popular and, perhaps, most well-known, devices for a personal assistant is the Amazon Echo. Amazon brings to the table a wide range of speakers, devices and other home automation options. One of their top speakers, the Amazon Echo Plus, has an 8 micro-array microphone system and a 360 degrees omni-directional tube to provide excellent sound quality. A great feature to note is their “Drop in” facility, allowing the user to quickly call up other Amazon devices in order to make it easier to share music, videos and the like without too much fuss.
Apple has recently gone toe to toe with Amazon, releasing the very impressive HomePod. With its expansive OLED screen, it is quite the sight! On top of that, it also boasts a gorgeous sound thanks to its top-notch speaker system and precision acoustics. As one would expect, the HomePod is incredibly efficient, with Siri integration and a very instinctual approach to enjoying music, movies and more. It also has the added bonus of being able to blend with other Apple products, making the whole package quite tidy.
Last but far from least is the Google Nest. As with all the other companies, Google has a wide range of products available, ranging from the extremely affordable to the quite expensive. The centerpiece of their selection is the Google Nest, an all-in-one device with a built-in microphone, speaker and voice control capabilities. It has the most intuitive user interface and design, making it one of the best options for those who want to take the leap into home automation.
When one compares all the features and details of these three leading devices, it is obvious that they are all highly capable and equipped to provide a great smart home experience. But which of them really stands out as the leader? That answer is up to the individual user. It all comes down to preference. Some people may prioritize sound quality and system compatibility, while others may value design and accessibility. In the end, it all comes down to the personal preferences of the user, and any of the three products discussed here should make for an excellent way to jump into the world of home automation.
