As many mobile phone enthusiasts may remember, Sony released the Xperia 1 V at the beginning of 2020. The device caused quite a stir with its innovative 6.5-inch OLED display and triple rear camera, as well as the fact that it was the first smartphone to have an adjustable magnification feature.
Now, new renders of Sony’s upcoming Xperia 1 V have been released, and they are very reminiscent of the original device in terms of design. It looks as though Sony has decided to keep the same basic form factor with no major changes. In addition, it has been reported that the device will feature a Snapdragon 865 processor, which is the same processor found in the previous version.
At this point, there’s no word on what other specs the device may offer. However, there have been some rumors that the Xperia 1 V may include a 6.8-inch OLED display, a larger battery, and a more powerful 48-megapixel triple-camera setup. Of course, these are only speculations at this point, but they could be quite accurate if the new renders are anything to go by.
All-in-all, these newly leaked Xperia 1 V renders have us all looking back and xperiencing a bit of déjà vu. It looks as though Sony is taking a conservative approach with this device by keeping the same design as the original version. Either way, we’re certainly looking forward to seeing what new specs the device offers when it’s officially announced.
