Some Pixel phones are crashing after playing a certain YouTube video

In an alarming turn of events, various Pixel users have been reporting that their phones have crashed while playing a particular YouTube video. This issue has been reported by both users of first generation Pixel phones and the latest Pixel 3a XL.

This bug appears to be related to a video on the YouTube channel Unbox Therapy. It is claimed that when some Pixel owners attempt to play this video, their phones start to seal up and become unresponsive. Several users who tried to play the video had to reboot their phones entirely, while some claim that they were even unable to access the boot menu.

The issue seems to be related to the fact that the latest version of YouTube is optimized for certain devices, and the Pixel phones appear to be incompatible with this optimization. It is also possible that some of the hardware components on the phones are not compatible with the video, causing them to lock up.

The video in question is no longer available to play, as it was removed from YouTube shortly after the reports started to appear. YouTube is yet to issue an official statement in regards to the issue, and no fix has been made available.

It is unclear whether more Pixel phones are affected by this issue, but those affected should take extra care while playing any YouTube videos. If you do happen to run into any issues while watching a video, it is advisable to turn off your device and contact Google Customer Support for further help.
