You may have noticed that your battery life on your Macbook laptop has been running out faster than usual. There’s no need to worry — this is not a hardware issue and can easily be fixed. It’s simply because your version of Google Chrome was draining your laptop’s battery. Thankfully, things have changed for the better, as Google Chrome has recently released an update that fixes the issue.
The issue with the older version of Google Chrome is that it would keep running processes in the background, even if you have closed all of your windows and tabs. This continuous activity would lead to more battery drainage than normal, meaning less time on the laptop before needing a recharge. With the update, the browser now has improved power management to keep battery usage to a minimum.
In addition to power management refinements, the team at Google Chrome also changed the download feature. Now, when you download a file, Google Chrome will ask you if you want to keep it in the downloads folder — instead of defaulting to that folder as it did before. This is a great way to make sure that you don’t use up too much storage space with unnecessary downloads.
The team at Google Chrome has also worked to ensure that the browser runs faster on top of consuming less battery. They were able to make optimizations in the code so that the browser runs more efficiently without the need for additional resources. With this increased speed, the browser is able to better compete with other popular browsers on the market.
If you haven’t done so already, now is a great time to update your version of Google Chrome. Doing so will not only improve performance, but also leave more battery power for other uses. With the improved power management and faster performance, you can keep your Macbook laptop up and running longer.
