Street Fighter 6 debuts a release date and new characters

The long awaited new installment of the Street Fighter franchise is finally set to be released, with Capcom announcing its official release date and debuting a handful of all-new characters. Street Fighter 6 is coming to Playstation and Xbox platforms on June 25th 2021.

As long time Street Fighter fans excitedly look forward to the upcoming game, Capcom has unveiled four of the new characters that will be available in the game: San, Zangief, Guile, and Cammy.

San is a new fighter with black hair and a red kimono. He specializes in martial arts and is said to be inspired in part by Chinese martial arts movie star Jet Li. He is an acrobatic fighter that can jump higher than any other fighter in the game.

Next is Zangief – a fighter with a massive red beard, wearing a wrestling singlet and plenty of muscles. He is said to be inspired by legendary pro wrestlers like Andre the Giant and Brock Lesnar, and his fighting style is based on the grappling style of professional wrestling.

Guile is another veteran fighter returning to the series, introducing a new look inspired by classic characters like Chuck Norris. He is a military officer that is famous for his Sonic Boom attacks.

Lastly is Cammy — an iconic British fighter that has been in the Street Fighter series since 1994 wearing a distinctive green costume. She has a unique flying spiral move that she uses in her attacks.

Along with these four new additions to the series, Street Fighter 6 will also introduce a brand new set of levels, each designed with its own look, feel, and challenge. Capcom has stated that they have made huge leaps forward in the graphics and animation compared to previous entries in the series, resulting in battles that look and feel more realistic than ever before.

Overall, Street Fighters 6 is guaranteed to be an amazing experience for all— whether you’re a newbie looking for a casual fighting game, or a hardcore Street Fighter fan eagerly awaiting the newest installment in the series. It promises plenty of high intensity hand-to-hand combat and its visuals will be a treat for the eyes. June 25th can’t come soon enough.
