In recent times, horror has been one of the most popular genres of film and entertainment, and audiences around the world have embraced the spine-tingling thrill of good horror films. To capitalize on the success of such films, the entertainment company Blumhouse has made a name for itself in the industry, producing some of the most iconic horror films of recent times, such as Get Out, Insidious, and The Purge.
Now, Blumhouse has revealed plans for its latest endeavor: creating its own horror universe. Blumhouse’s horror universe will bring together multiple existing franchises, as well as some new additions, and will feature a unique and cohesive narrative that will run throughout all of the films. This universe will include some of Blumhouse’s already existing properties, such as The Purge, as well as new and returning characters.
The company has even teased the possibility of some crossovers between franchises. Blumhouse’s CEO Jason Blum has confirmed that there will be “a lot of connections” between the various franchises, which could lead to some truly innovative storytelling and exciting possibilities for fans of the genre.
Furthermore, Blumhouse has recruited some of the best talent in the industry to helm the new projects. Horror directors such as Jordan Peele, Leigh Whannell, and James Wan will be putting their own spin on the projects, as well as some up-and-coming directors who are on the verge of making their mark in the horror genre.
The debut film, The Gift, is set to be released in 2021. All eyes are on Blumhouse to see what they are able to achieve with their own horror universe. With its talented team of filmmakers and unique concept, Blumhouse’s upcoming releases look set to be some of the most exciting horror releases of 2021 and beyond.
