Sea of Thieves update: Season 8 Adventures, Plunder Pass, and more

Avast all ye pirates, Sea of Thieves is a-changing! This marauding free online adventure game just released its new Season 8 update: Adventures, Plunder Pass and more!

The latest version brings a host of new and returning features, including some highly requested features and content. Let’s dive into the details of what this new update entails.

First and foremost, players will definitely appreciate the new Adventures mode. This new content is made up of simpler quest-style play and discovery with unique adventures across the archipelagos of the Sea of Thieves. Adventures will have you undergoing shovel castings, deciphering text messages and seeking out hidden booty. There’s also some other changes in store, like new map areas, expanded user inventories, ships customization options and more.

Next we have the new Plunder Pass. Think of it as a loot box designed to get you rewards for playing and accumulates loot over the course of a season. With each new season and level, players will gain access to new rewards. That includes special event items, exclusive ship cosmetics and even rare treasures.

In addition, the Season 8 update also comes with some expected changes and balance tweaks. Players with original ship designs now have the ability to customize their ships’ sails, with each sail set unique to their own creation. Ship balance has also been further refined, with improvements for hull and cargo holds as well as sailing and ship combat.

Finally, the update also adds some new quality-of-life features into the mix. Players can now purchase bundles that unlock cosmetics, emotes and ship sets right in game; there’s also a way to track accomplishments called the ‘Haul Of Fame’.
