Star Wars Eclipse: everything we know so far

Star Wars has come a long way since the beloved original trilogy. And this year, a brand new chapter will be added to the timeline.

The franchise is set to release the new movie Star Wars: Eclipse, with a planned release date for 2023. As with any Star Wars film, the anticipation is already building, so let’s take a look at what we already know about the movie.

First, Eclipse is set to be a direct sequel to Star Wars: The Last Jedi. This means that the main story line from the 2017 movie will continue with Eclipse.

The movie will be part of the Star Wars Sequel Trilogy and will feature beloved original trilogy characters, plus newcomers. Characters like Rey, Poe, and Finn will make an appearance in the film, as well as Kylo Ren, the primary antagonist of the Sequel Trilogy.

The story of Eclipse will reportedly take place some time after the events of The Last Jedi. The movie is said to be focusing on the journey of Rey on her quest to become a Jedi, training with Luke’s remaining inspirations as well as exploring her identity. The story is also set to explore other aspects of the galaxy, from powerful political forces to untold secrets and mysteries.

The cast is also set to include some new faces. Director J.J. Abrams has been quick to announce the actor for Zorri Bliss, a mysterious character played by Keri Russell. It has also been reported that Dominic Monaghan and Matthew Rhys are onboard, but their roles have yet to be revealed.

Of course, the movie wouldn’t be worth watching without the music. Composer John Williams, who wrote the iconic soundtracks for all the other Star Wars films, will be returning once again to work on Eclipse.

As it stands, Star Wars: Eclipse is nothing but anticipation and mystery. But with the official cast and release date set, fans are sure to get some new information as the release date draws closer. In the meantime, here’s hoping that it lives up to the expectations of Star Wars fans everywhere.
