FuboTV kaput

FuboTV went dark during the World Cup semifinals earlier this week, leaving subscribers of the internet-TV streaming service without access to their streaming content. The problem was due to what the company described as a “criminal cyber attack”, which knocked the service offline for several hours.

The incident occurred during the World Cup semi-final between the Netherlands and Argentina on Tuesday evening. FuboTV subscribers found they were unable to access the stream that was being broadcast through the service. In a written statement, the company said: “We were the victim of a criminal cyber attack that began at 8:20 p.m. EDT and lasted through 8:45 p.m. EDT. During this time our service was disrupted, resulting in an inability to access the FuboTV app or web version.”

This is not the first time that FuboTV has encountered technical issues. In April, the company experienced a “severe disruption” due to a technical issue, resulting in customers being unable to access streams for several hours. The company is putting into place extra measures to secure the service from future attacks.

In addition to the outage, FuboTV is facing criticism from customers regarding the cost of the service. The company recently raised its monthly subscription fee from $35 to $45. The new price tag puts FuboTV at a disadvantage compared to its competitors, such as SlingTV, DirecTV Now and PlayStation Vue. All of these services offer large deals and discounts regularly, while FuboTV has no such offer in place.

All in all, the FuboTV cyber attack is a serious reminder of the dangers of the digital world. The company is now facing the repercussions of the incident with an angry customer base and an inflated price tag. It’s now up to FuboTV to restore its customers’ faith in the service and to make sure that such an incident never happens again.
