Playing Heroes or Villains with Milo Ventimiglia
Milo Ventimiglia has been an actor-favorite in Hollywood for decades now, delivering some truly memorable performances as both heroic and villainous characters. From the enigmatic and mysterious Peter Petrelli in NBC’s Heroes to the charmingly evil Sylar in the same show, Ventimiglia has proven time and time again that he can pull off either role. It’s no wonder then that the actor has become Hollywood’s go-to man for both heroic and villainous characters.
It’s not hard to see why Milo Ventimiglia has gained a name for himself in both fields. His chiseled good looks, combined with a strong skill for playing both light and dark roles, give producers and casts the greatest of confidence in his ability to pull off any character. Indeed, it seems like the actor has a knack for playing the hero, from the charmingly adorable Jess Mariano in Gilmore Girls, to the noble and proud Jack Pearson in This is Us; Ventimiglia pushes the boundaries of what hero characters can do and be.
On the other hand, Ventimiglia has gained just as much acclaim and cult-following for some of the darker roles he has taken on. His icy portrayal of Gabriel Gray in Heroes, and later as the cunningly malevolent Adam in The Whispers, are stand-out performances that are sure to have left audiences at the edge of their seats. It makes sense that Ventimiglia is almost typecast as a ‘hero-villain’, as this mash-up of characters is become a growing trend in Hollywood films and series.
Regardless of the side he’s playing, Ventimiglia’s recent Hollywood career has gone from strength to strength. Fans can no doubt look forward to more mysterious and shadowy performances from the actor in the future!
