James Cameron Says Avatar 3 Would Be a Satisfying Ending, But He Wants More

The box office success of Avatar, the highest-grossing movie of all time, has spawned a franchise that is three sequels strong with more possibly on the way. James Cameron has already indicated that Avatar 3 will provide a satisfying ending to the saga but his ambition is to pursue more as long as there are new stories to tell.

As the original Avatar’s release brought forth a groundbreaking new vision of cinematic storytelling, the pressure to continue the story was immense. While the sequels may not have achieved the same level of success as the first movie, Cameron still seems determined to bring this world to life and make fans happy.

In a recent interview, Cameron indicated that Avatar 3 will be the movie that brings the full circle of this story. “I think Avatar 3 will be the end of the Avatar arc. It depends on how strong Avatar 4 and 5 come out to be, but I think it has a strong conclusion.”

However, Cameron later revealed that he’s already energy in the works for even more Avatar stories. In confirming that the Avatar trilogy will end where it started, Cameron says “we have the next four Avatar movies, so we can link directly to the first one with a satisfying conclusion of the trilogy but be left a little bit open-ended as you see what the future holds.”

While nothing has been confirmed, it appears that Cameron is living up to his promises of making the Avatar world as expansive as possible. With Avatar 3, fans should receive the glorious conclusion they deserve and Cameron might be teasing that more lies beyond this final chapter.
