Xbox Series X vs Xbox Series S: which Xbox is right for you?

If you are in the market for a new gaming system but can’t decide between the Xbox Series X or the Xbox Series S, here is a helpful guide on what each console offers and which might be the better fit for your gaming needs.

The Xbox Series X and S both have similar features so it is easy to compare the two consoles and decide which one may be best for you. Both consoles have a dedicated AMD processor, ray-tracing and variable rate shading, plus faster loading speeds in comparison to the Xbox One console.

The differences lie in the size and graphics. The Series X is the larger of the two and offers smoother and quicker graphics and frame rates, whereas the Series S offers lower resolution graphics, but with a smaller form factor. Both consoles are 4K HDR compatible, but the Series X has the capability to render games in 8K resolutions; whereas the Series S is limited to 1440p resolutions.

When it comes to storage, the Series X has a 1 terabyte hard drive, while the Series S has 500 gigabytes. Both consoles give players the option to expand their storage but the Series X can hold a lot more games and downloadable content.

The Xbox Series X also has a more powerful cooling system meaning it operates more quietly than the Series S. But, the Series X price tag is higher as expected for the more powerful of the two consoles.

In terms of buying one of the two consoles, it really comes down to personal preference and budget. If you are looking for an extremely powerful console that offers high resolution graphics, the Xbox Series X is perfect for you. However, if you are looking for a smaller, more affordable console and don’t mind sacrificing some resolution and power, the Xbox Series S is a good choice. The reduced price tag means you may be able to get additional games with your console purchase.

No matter which console you choose, both offerings offer gamers exciting and immersive gaming experiences, and provide great value for money.
