The Future Games Show Spring Showcase took place recently and gamers had a lot to be excited about. Dozens of amazing upcoming titles were announced from some of the biggest companies in the gaming industry.
Ubisoft’s Far Cry 6 was one of the most anticipated titles of the show. The sixth installment in the popular Far Cry series, this installment takes place on the fictional Caribbean island of Yara, where a vicious dictator, El Presidente, has taken control. Players will take on the role of Dani Rojas and join the revolution to take him down. The game is scheduled to be released on October 7th.
Next up was Capcom, who announced Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin. This turn-based RPG follows the story of a young Monster Hunter, called the “Rider”, who embarks on a journey to save their village. This will feature a large focus on monsters, such as forming a bond with monsters and taking them into battle alongside you. The game is scheduled to be released on July 9th for PlayStation 4, Switch, and PC.
The new game from Dontnod Entertainment, Tell Me Why, was also unveiled at the Spring Showcase. In this narrative adventure game, players will join Tyler and Alyson Ronan as they use their special bond to unravel the mysteries of their broken family. The game will be released in three parts on Xbox One and PC this summer.
From Sqaure Enix, there was Project Athia. This upcoming action-adventure title is set in a beautiful, fantastical open-world that comes alive with magical forces. Players will take on the role of the main protagonist, Frey, as she embarks on her journey with the help of a mysterious creature. The game is set to be released in 2022 for PlayStation 5 and PC.
Finally, Microsoft revealed Age of Empires IV. Set in the Medieval era, this fourth installment in the popular Age of Empires series promises to bring players back to the roots of empire building with classic Age of Empires gameplay. With its stunning visual design, this game is sure to be a hit for strategy fans. Age of Empires IV is set to be released in fall 2021 for PC.
