Bing shows off two new AI features that make Google Bard look basic

Recently, Microsoft’s search engine – Bing – unveiled two new Artificial Intelligence (AI) features that make Google’s search engine look basic by comparison.

The two new features – Bing Visual Search and Bing Image Captioning – were designed to make searching with Bing more intuitive and efficient. With Visual Search, users can select a region of an image in order to refine the search results to that specific object, making search results more focused. Bing Image Captioning then allows users to upload images and have Bing generate descriptive captions for them.

Visual Search improves on an earlier Bing feature called Image Search, through which users could search for images by keyword. Visual Search is a major step forward in terms of enabling users to quickly find the exact image they are looking for, as it allows them to search based on what they see, rather than what they know. This could be particularly useful for photography, medical and engineering professionals, who need to quickly find high-quality images to use in their work.

Bing Image Captioning, meanwhile, is a brand new feature which allows users to upload an image and have Bing generate a descriptive caption for it. This feature uses input from Microsoft’s AI platform and incorporates machine learning algorithms to make the captions as accurate as possible.

The two features combined should make searching with Bing much more intuitive, since users can now find the image they’re looking for faster and with more accuracy, and then get a descriptive caption to go with it.

In contrast, Google’s search engine remains limited in terms of AI. It still uses image search as its main image search feature and does not offer any image captioning option. This means that users of Google’s search engine have to manually generate descriptive captions for images, whereas users of Bing can now do it automatically.

Overall, the two new features in Bing make the search engine much more useful compared to Google. They allow users to quickly find the exact image they’re looking for, and then generate an accurate and descriptive caption with the click of a button. This significantly simplifies the search process and makes Bing an attractive option for those who want to find the perfect image with ease.
