Apple’s iOS 17 may include ‘several’ requested features

With each Apple iOS update, the Cupertino-based company brings us a ton of exciting features to enhance its already highly sophisticated system. Some of the highlights of the previous updates include support for the Apple Pencil, automation of daily tasks, Siri intelligence, and much more. Now, with the much-anticipated iOS 17 rumored to be coming soon, Apple has given us yet another reason to get excited.

According to recent reports, the upcoming version of its mobile operating system, iOS 17, will include “several” user-requested features. While the company hasn’t confirmed any of these features, here’s a sneak peek what could be a part of iOS 17.

One of the most-requested features is a dark mode. A dark mode enables users to invert the color scheme of the interface, making the display easier on the eyes when using the device at night. Apple already offers this feature on its macOS devices, so we could expect to see it make its way to iOS.

Another highly requested feature is an improved photo manipulation toolset. Currently, the stock app for photo editing leaves something to be desired. With this update, Apple could finally bring features like Gimps’s Magic Wand, which provides users with the ability to select a certain area to edit in a photo and ensure that edits stay within the area.

Further, with iOS 17, Apple could provide third-party users with more access to the app and content stored within. A prime example would be providing access to the Messages App allowing third-party developers to create iMessage apps.

Since this is an Apple update, a few other minor tweaks could also occur. Users can expect updates to the App Store, improved usability when using the keyboard, and a range of additional filtering options when using the TrueDepth camera.

At this time, Apple hasn’t confirmed which (if any) of these features will be included in the upcoming update. Even so, Apple has promised to give us “several” requested features and improvements in their upcoming update. We can only keep our fingers crossed and wait until iOS 17 is officially released and we can get our hands on all its new features.
