Google Play now lets children send purchase requests to guardians

Google Play has recently unveiled a new feature that will make it easier for children to purchase apps, movies and music without having to bother their parents for credit card information. The service, called “Purchase Requests”, allows kids to make purchase requests to their guardians directly from the Google Play store.

For those unfamiliar, when making a purchase request, the child will be able to provide a brief description of the item in question and their reasons for wanting it. That message is then sent to their guardian’s email address, who can approve or decline the request with a simple click. If the request is approved, the purchase will be billed to the guardian’s Google Play account.

Purchase Requests is available on Google Play devices running the latest version of the Play Store. The feature works best when a child is added to the family Payment Method via Family Library. That way, the guardian can easily see what the child has purchased and easily approve purchase requests with a single click. The feature is optional for both parties, as guardians can still add children to their family Payment Method without utilizing Purchase Requests.

The release of Purchase Requests is a welcome addition to Google Play, as it will help streamline the in-app purchasing process for both parents and children. It also adds an extra layer of control and transparency, as guardians will always be aware of what their children are purchasing and can easily approve or decline requests on the spot.

Overall, Purchase Requests is a great way for guardians to stay informed as to what their children are downloading and buying, without having to constantly glance over their shoulder. It makes the purchasing process easier and more secure than ever before and should save parents a great deal of hassle.
