We’re One Step Closer to AI Handling Zoom Meetings for Us

Are you ready to hand over the reins of your Zoom meetings to Artificial Intelligence (AI)? It looks like that day is closer than ever, as a team of researchers at Microsoft have developed AI capable of running meetings.

The new AI system, called Project Mesh, is designed to automatically recognize cues during online meetings, such as hesitation or silence. From these cues, Mesh is then able to make decisions and suggest tasks to meeting participants.

Microsoft initially developed the technology to aid human moderators in managing their meetings, with the automated assistant offering useful advice and suggesting topics of conversation. Mesh is even able to use facial recognition, natural language processing and sentiment analysis in order to detect user sentiment and adjust tasks accordingly, offering up tailored discussion topics for all users in the meeting.

The technology also allows for the automatic generation of minutes and summaries from the meeting in question, meaning your AI assistant will handle all of your documentations for you. This could be especially useful for busy professionals and business owners, as it takes the burden of note-taking off their plate.

So far, prediction accuracy for Project Mesh is impressive, with reported accuracy levels reaching 80-85 percent. The team is looking to further improve accuracy with the help of machine learning, allowing the technology to “learn” as it is exposed to more meetups and meetings.

What’s more, they are also exploring ways to incorporate more complex tasks into the AI system, such as real-time transcription of meetings and dynamic reprioritization of workloads, ensuring that all attendees stay on the same page.

It’s no longer a matter of if AI will be able to handle and run Zoom meetings for us-instead, it looks like we’re one step closer to it becoming a reality. With the help of Project Mesh, meetings could potentially become less tedious, more productive, and more efficient than ever before-all thanks to the power of AI.
