It’s the news that Marvel fans everywhere have been waiting for – Liv Tyler’s Incredible Hulk character is returning to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
After making her debut in 2008’s The Incredible Hulk, Tyler had been absent from Marvel movies since then. But now, as Marvel moves towards introducing its Marvel Television/Streaming lineup, Tyler is returning to join in with the rest of the Marvel gang.
Tyler first appeared in The Incredible Hulk as Reporter Betty Ross, General Ross’s daughter, who eventually became the love interest of Bruce Banner, the man who transformed into the Hulk. Although Tyler only had a short role in the movie, it was enough to endear her to fans.
Now, her character is returning to the MCU, but in a very different capacity. According to Marvel, Tyler will play a lead role in The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, a Marvel Television/Streaming project about two of the Avengers – Falcon and Winter Soldier. Details about her character have not yet been revealed, but it’s sure to be a treat for Marvel fans to have her back on board.
It’s clear that Marvel is interested in revisiting its characters from the early days, and Tyler’s return is a welcome one. Not only does it bring back a beloved character, but it shows that Marvel is willing to expand and explore its vast pool of talent. With Tyler on board, the Marvel Cinematic Universe is sure to continue to awe and entertain fans for many more years to come.
