Salt Labs, a Sydney-based startup focused on improving the recruitment process, has announced it has closed a US$10 million funding round to help gamify contract work.

The funding round was led by AirTree Ventures, with participation from Rampersand, GSF Global and Wildcat Ventures. It brings the total amount of funding raised by Salt Labs to US$12 million since its founding in 2014.

Salt Labs’ platform allows employers to quickly source and hire contract workers at the same time local candidates are being evaluated. It encourages employers to break down the larger process into smaller components and gamify them, making the recruitment process faster, more accurate, and more efficient.

The platform also allows employers to trial candidates for a period of time before making a long-term hire, allowing them to save time, money and reduce the risk of making a bad hire.

The new funding will be used to expand Salt Labs’ current offering and extend its product suite, allowing employers to hire talent in more parts of the world. The additional funding will also help the company to build an online marketplace, allowing employers to access a larger and more competitive pool of talent.

Salt Labs’ CEO and Founder, Justin Dry, said he was “thrilled” to have closed the funding round and is confident that the new capital will help the company to bring its vision to life.

“Highly skilled contract workers can be hard to find and often the recruitment process takes too long and is overly expensive. Our core mission is to make this process simpler, more efficient, and more rewarding for employers, contract workers and the communities in which they live,” Dry said.

The new funding round comes as the company is seeing an increased demand for its services following its launch in 2014. Salt Labs has already seen success, with contracts completed with big brands such as Optus, Telstra, Microsoft, and Yum! Brands.

It looks to be an exciting time for the Salt Labs team, and with their innovative approach to recruitment, it’s sure to be a success.
