The new file cap means that all of your files stored in Google Drive will be limited to a maximum file size of 5TB. Fortunately, this limit is unlikely to affect the vast majority of Google Drive users, as 5TB of storage is enough room to store hundreds of thousands of documents, photos and other files.

In conclusion, if you’re a casual Google Drive user, you’re unlikely to encounter the new 5TB file cap anytime soon. However, those who work with large video files should be mindful of the file cap, and consider budgeting additional storage if their needs exceed 5TB.
