Microsoft’s ChatGPT-powered Bing AI gets smarter with more local knowledge

In recent years, Artificial Intelligence (AI) has been playing an ever-increasing role in our lives. For example, Microsoft’s Chatbot-Powered Bing AI is one of the most advanced AI systems ever created, and it’s constantly becoming smarter.

Microsoft’s Chatbot-Powered Bing AI is the latest incarnation of Microsoft’s AI efforts. It is powered by the OpenAI GPT-3 platform which is a cutting-edge transformer architecture capable of generating human-like responses. Unlike traditional AI systems, GPT-3’s abilities are based solely on its knowledge, as opposed to ‘rule-based’ AI which relies on a set of specified instructions to determine its behavior.

At the heart of the Chatbot-Powered Bing are two core features: a conversational agent and the conversation search engine. The conversation agent acts as a virtual assistant, responding to questions with results pulled from Bing’s search engine. The conversation search engine allows users to refine their queries with natural language and receive more refined results.

However, while this AI system is powerful, it has been relying heavily on data from the web in order to answer questions. This meant that the system was not able to provide results tailored to a particular country or region. To remedy this, Microsoft has now announced an update for Chatbot-Powered Bing which will enable it to better understand local knowledge and invoke local knowledge in its search results.

The update has been made possible thanks to the integration of Microsoft’s proprietary Language Intelligence Knowledge Graph (LIKG), which is a database of information sourced from local sources such as local newspapers, websites, and social media. LIKG combines this data with Microsoft’s own semantic understanding capabilities (MSaV) to identify topics and determine the intent behind the user’s query.

This integration means that Chatbot-Powered Bing will now be able to offer more in-depth and accurate results tailored to the user’s local region. For example, if a user poses a query about a local sports team or cultural event, Chatbot-Powered Bing will be able to generate information from local sources, and even offer local insights and cultural references to help provide a more meaningful answer.

Microsoft’s Chatbot-Powered Bing is now smarter and better than ever. With the integration of LIKG and MSaV, it can now tap into localized sources of information to better understand queries and help provide a more relevant response. As the AI system continues to learn from human interactions and from its own experiences, it will only become smarter, and help to make people’s lives easier.
