Innovation and technology are key components when it comes to creating smarter, healthier homes. Recently, a French startup called Mila has found exciting success. Backed by Swedish consumer appliances giant Electrolux, this company recently secured $52 million in external funding and is valued at around $600 million. Mila has built an ambitious project: creating a smart air purifier that will provide the cleanest air possible.
The Mila air purifier uses two stages of air filtering, followed by a patented purification system known as ActivePure, which is capable of removing up to 99.98% of airborne particles and allergens – dust, pollen, dust mites, mold, and more. It is effective even at the smallest particle sizes (less than 3 microns), inclusing ultrafine PM2,5 particles.
To make the air purifier even smarter, Mila has also included an AI-based system for learning about a user’s health and preferences. This system collects data from intelligent sensors, to create customized air purification settings for each user. Producing the cleanest and freshest air possible, the AI-powered system also remembers past preferences, so it knows how to adjust to new health conditions and preferences.
The company’s ambition is to create a healthier atmosphere in homes, while also eliminating the need for manual labor when it comes to operating the purifier. With their device, users will also be able to set up customized auto-detections, which turn on the device and set the preferences when a certain level of air pollution is detected in the area.
This latest funding round, backed by Electrolux, will help Mila continue to develop its smart air purifying technology. This investment also shows Electrolux’s commitment to developing a healthier lifestyle through home appliances, as the company states, this will help them “to create a future where all homes have clean air”.
This isn’t the first time that Mila and Electrolux have partnered up. Last year, the two companies released their first joint project: a wall-mounted vertical purifier that was designed specifically for the Japanese market. With this new device, Mila will continue to reinforce its role as a leader in smart air purifying technology.
Mila’s revolutionary device is expected to be released later this year. With its combination of air filters and intelligent technology, the air purifier promises to revolutionize the way we think about air purification and home health. Thanks to Electrolux’s support, Mila is now at a valuation of $600 million and ready to bring its groundbreaking technology to the world.
