With anticipation growing by the day, a recent announcement from Lucasfilm has Star Wars fans buzzing even more than usual. It was recently revealed that The Acolyte, a new Disney+ series set in the High Republic era, will include at least one familiar face. While no specific character is named it has already sent speculation into overdrive about just who might be appearing onscreen.
The Acolyte is set in the High Republic age and will take place during a time of relative peace and prosperity for the Galactic Republic. The new series is an exciting addition to the expansive world of Star Wars and promises to explore a variety of characters and stories in an unexplored era.
Lucasfilm’s announcement has added further mystery and speculation as they reveal that at least one familiar character from the High Republic era will appear in The Acolyte. This could mean a character first introduced in the High Republic comics, novels, or even in one of the various games set within that era. It could also mean a character briefly mentioned but never seen in the films, or a fan favourite whose arch-nemesis is The Acolyte’s main antagonist.
The Acolyte looks to be an exciting addition to the current slate of Star Wars stories, offering something truly unique. Instead of retelling familiar stories or characters, the series will instead focus on introducing new ones, as well as exploring the history and culture of the High Republic era.
One thing is certain: having a familiar face included in the series is sure to make all Star Wars fans eager for the premiere, giving us something new and exciting to look forward to. We can’t wait to find out who does appear in The Acolyte and get another dose of the Star Wars universe.
