With Christmas Eve quickly approaching, now is the time to start tracking Santa Claus on his annual journey delivering presents to children around the world. Fortunately, with today’s technology, it’s never been easier to follow Santa’s route!
The North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) has been tracking Santa’s journey since 1955 when an ad wrongly gave the phone number of their command center in response to a young caller asking when Santa would arrive. Now, NORAD teams up with Google each year to provide an interactive Santa tracking experience. To follow Santa this Christmas Eve, all you need to do is visit noradsanta.org. Once there, you can monitor Santa’s progress using a fun interactive map and watch videos of him delivering presents around the world.
If you want to make it a family activity, you can also download the NORAD Tracks Santa app. This app provides real-time updates on Santa’s whereabouts and an augmented reality feature called “Santa Cam” that allows you to take pictures with Santa as he passes by your home. You can also follow his progress through Facebook, Twitter, or YouTube.
But there are other ways to track Santa’s travels. The website Santa Update is a great resource, as it provides Santa-tracker tools, holiday music, and up-to-date info on Santa’s movements and which cities he’s heading to next. On Christmas Eve, you can also watch NBC’s “Christmas in Rockefeller Center” special, which kicks off with a live stream of Santa leaving the North Pole and entering the United States.
However you choose to follow Santa’s journey this year, it’s sure to be an exciting and magical experience! Whether you’re following along online or with app updates, it’s a great way to feel connected and join in on the holiday spirit. So, grab a warm mug of hot cocoa, gather around the screen, and get ready for a thrilling night of sleigh-bell ringing, present-delivering, and holiday cheer.
