The Windows 11 update is finally here and it is making waves. With a host of new features and improvements to existing ones, it promises to make PCs run smoother, faster and more efficiently. While the new update certainly has plenty of great additions to offer, here are three of my favorites and one that I don’t seem too fond of.
The first feature that I absolutely adore is the new dark mode. As someone who works late into the night, this has been a huge help when it comes to reducing eyestrain. Not only that, the dark mode also goes a long way in terms of battery life, as it consumes less energy. Apart from that, the overall aesthetic of dark mode is quite pleasing to the eye, making the whole experience more enjoyable.
The second feature is the adding of the new Voice assistant. Windows has finally joined the bandwagon of artificially intelligent personal assistants, which is definitely good news. With this, users can now get information, reminders, notifications and more using just their voice. This is perfect for multitaskers and those who like keeping their hands free for other tasks.
The third feature that I love is the new Snap Assist. This allows users to easily resize and arrange windows side-by-side. It is an incredibly handy addition that makes multitasking on a desktop a breeze. The way it automatically keeps each app on the same wave-length, allowing for smooth transitions is something I absolutely love.
The one feature that I don’t particularly enjoy is the introduction of gaming-specific settings. While the idea is great in theory, the reality is that it can be quite annoying in practice. It can often be quite distracting and interfere with the overall environment standard settings users may have become accustomed to, which can be irritating.
Overall, Windows 11 update is a great addition and it brings plenty of welcomed features along with it. I definitely think these features will prove to be beneficial and productive for day to day users.
