Xbox’s new energy-saving power options roll out this week

Microsoft’s Xbox recently announced the roll-out of a new energy-saving feature. This new technology, available in the console’s Settings, will lower the amount of power a console consumes when idle.

The new energy-saving setting on the Xbox can give gamers peace of mind when it comes to their system’s electricity bills. After installation, it will turn off the power when the console is inactive. The Xbox will look for inactivity by tracking the amount of time since its last use, allowing the console to accommodate some longer game sessions.

In addition to saving energy from the console itself, Microsoft is also encouraging gamers to save power on other devices. The new Xbox feature includes a setting that reduces the Power Usage of other devices connected to the console. This means if gamers have their Xbox connected to a soundbar or extra console controller, they can reduce the devices’ energy consumption.

Microsoft also offered ways gamers can make their gaming experience more energy-efficient without compromising on gameplay. Suggestions include disabling the “instant-on” mode when not in use and turning off the console when not gaming.

Whether they’re looking to save energy or just want to conserve energy where they can, gamers can make use of the new feature on the Xbox. The new energy-saving setting is available now and can be found in the Settings tab. Microsoft is continuously listening to gamers’ feedback and developing new ways to show its commitment to sustainability.
