The Continental’s first trailer takes the John Wick series to the ’70s

The newest installment of the John Wick franchise, Chapter 3: Parabellum, is set to be released later this year, and with it comes the Continental, a feature-length spin-off starring Keanu Reeves and Ian McShane. The Continental, set in the 1970s, follows the events of the original John Wick movie and features Ian McShane and Keanu Reeves as a former assassin and a stately Continental Hotel manager and concierge, respectively.

The first trailer of The Continental has just been released, and it takes people to a new era as they get a glimpse of the John Wick universe during the 1970s. The trailer begins in a dark room at the Continental, which we can assume is a meeting of the various assassin’s guilds. It then cuts to a hotel room at the Continental, where Keanu Reeves’s character is staying. We see John in a dapper suit, saying that the Continental allows all guests to conduct business, but that “no business is allowed on Continental grounds.”

The Continental then shows a series of brief clips from the movie, alluding to the action and intrigue that will occur throughout the plot. In one clip, McShane’s character is seen in a fight with a group of criminals. In another, a mysterious woman (presumably Halle Berry’s character) is seen sneaking up on John Wick. We also get a glimpse of Laurence Fishburne as a character – although his exact role in the film remains to be seen.

We also get a glimpse of the various assassins who inhabit the Continental, as they are shown in various scenes throughout the trailer. One scene features a martial arts battle between John Wick and an assassin, and we also get a glimpse at the various weapons and gadgets that will be used throughout the movie.

Overall, the first trailer of The Continental has been met with much anticipation and excitement from fans of the series. The introduction of a new era to the John Wick universe is sure to add a new and interesting layer to the already well-established world. With the release of The Continental just around the corner (May 17, 2019), fans are sure to get an even better glimpse into the action-packed world of John Wick when the new movie arrives.
